“Esme” has undergone professional, sympathetic restoration, her original revealed paintwork has been repaired and retouched. She retains a original cross – halved stand, of which has been finished in a medium, natural wood polish finish.
The stand displays stenciling of the size, number 5. Further stenciling is present but not ledgeable, this may have read “Harrods” as the supplier.
Leather replica tack has been fitted and all is detachable. The saddle has its original refurbished leather covered “tree” and original nickel stirrup irons. The original nickel swing irons, brackets, bolts etc, were all refurbished and refitted.
“Esme” is a lovely example of this much sort after F.H. Ayres wooden rocking horse. Certification to show authenticity, work undertaken and valuation are held.
